Matt is a patent attorney, scientist, inventor, and serial entrepreneur. He holds a PhD in Computational Biochemistry and was engaged in academic research of computer-aided drug design before finding his way into the world of intellectual property and technology entrepreneurship. He has over 15 years of experience in advising companies, inventors, and entrepreneurs regarding various aspects of intellectual property matters, including patents applications, trademark registrations, copyright, and trade secret protections.
Matt has represented major corporations in patent matters as well as startup companies on commercialization strategies. His legal experience includes both big law firm practice with several major international law firms and also as in-house general counsel for emerging technology companies. In addition to his scientific and legal training, he also holds a master’s degree in technology commercialization from UT Austin. He is most passionate about commercializing innovative technologies that has the potential to disrupt industrial verticals. His current practice focuses on helping fellow entrepreneurs to realize their vision through the art of “venture building”.
